Cecilia Zou is the chair of Chinese Literature Club and chief editor ofSHSID|TimesChinese Literature Section. During the after-school Club time, students who share the same passion with her in Chinese Literature exchange their discoveries and write their own pieces. To date, the club has published two literary journals and there will be three more in the coming semester. Though she was busy with her junior year study, she still managed her schedule to do the reading. In a recent interview with local media, she mentioned how her reading experience here is totally different from that in the local school she used to go to. Here at SHSID, students are given a long booklist each semester and are required to finish certain volumes within the allotted time. Extensive reading helped her to gain fluency with English quickly and achieve success in academia.
